Netflix réunit Meryl Streep et Ariana Grande pour une comédie musicale

Fin juin, le réalisateur Ryan Murphy a annoncé la liste des acteurs pour son prochain film. L’adaptation d’une comédie musicale américaine « The Prom » commandée par Netflix. Meryl Streep, Ariana Grande et Nicole Kidman, sont au casting. Sortie prévue à l’automne 2020.

« C'est l'une des comédies musicales les plus exaltantes, sincères et spéciales que j'ai jamais vues à Broadway. C'est vraiment une œuvre qui célèbre les opprimés et dit de façon spectaculaire que les droits des LGBTQ sont des droits humains. » C’est en ces termes dithyrambiques que Ryan Murphy a décrit « The Prom », en avril dernier sur Instagram.

Ça tombe bien, le réalisateur américain (Glee, Nip/Tuck, American Horror Story) s’est vu confier la réalisation d’un film adapté de cette comédie musicale, par le géant Netflix. Alors que le tournage doit débuter d’ici décembre, l’homme a dévoilé une grande partie de la distribution. Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Ariana Grande, James Corden, Awkwafina, Keegan-Michael Key et Andrew Rannels… tous sont à l’affiche d’un film dont la sortie est prévue pour l’automne 2020 ssur Netflix.
